With reference to Your Grace's Secret Despatch of the 13th ultimo1 transmitting a copy of a Despatch from His Majesty's Consul General at New York with regard to activities of Irregulars in the United States of America and the rumoured shipments of arms, etc., to Ireland, I have the honour to thank Your Grace for the information therein contained and to state that my Government will be greatly obliged if they can be kept supplied with any similar information which reaches the Colonial Office regarding Irregular activities in the United States of America, particularly as to the shipment of arms and the movements of suspected persons between Ireland and America.
