Letter from Eamon de Valera to James McNeill (Dublin)
(Copy)

Dublin, 7 May 1932

Dear Governor General,1

I duly received your letter of May 2nd,2 and have given it careful consideration.

In my previous letter to you I made it clear that I regarded the whole affair as unfortunate and regrettable and one that should not have been permitted to occur. Further than this I am unable to go.

Yours faithfully
[copy letter unsigned]
