Dublin, 5 April 1932

10. The Oath of Allegiance

The President reported that he had that day in his capacity as Minister for External Affairs, despatched to Mr. J.H. Thomas, the British Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs, the reply on the question of the Oath of Allegiance which had been approved in substance at the meeting of the Cabinet on the 4th instant1, and he presented to the Cabinet for their information a copy of the reply as actually issued.2

The President's action was approved.
