Letter from Frederick H. Boland to Éamon de Valera (Dublin)

I have already mentioned to you this report from the Ambassador to the Holy See on the subject of his interviews with various Cardinals of the Curia.¹

You will particularly wish to see the portion of the report from the bottom of page 5 to the end of page 9. It deals with Mr. Walshe's conversation with Cardinal Pizzardo and the question of the choice of a successor to the Nuncio Apostolic. You will see that Mr. Walshe is anxious to have early instructions on the latter question.
