No. 322 NAI DFA Secretary's Files A71

Circular from Frederick H. Boland to all heads of missions (except Lisbon)
(Confidential)

Dublin, 26 April 1947

You will have seen in the press that the validity of the deportation orders made against three of the German nationals referred to in the Department's minute of the 22nd April1 has been upheld by the High Court. Appeals are pending in respect of two of the men. The third man has been released by the Minister for Justice on consideration of facts submitted to him by the man's solicitor and of the remarks made by the Judge differentiating his case from those of the others. The man will be allowed to remain here three months to settle his business affairs.

A statement made in an English paper that these men had been engaged in organising a Nazi conspiracy is, needless to say, without any foundation whatever.
