Extract from the minutes of a meeting of the Cabinet 'Transatlantic Air Service: Abandonment of'
(GC 5/11) (Item 1) (S13820)

Dublin, 16 April 1948

Following consideration of a memorandum dated the 14th April, 1948, submitted by the Minister for Industry and Commerce,1 it was decided that the proposal for the establishment of an Irish Transatlantic Air Service should be abandoned, that all capital equipment acquired for the purpose of such a service should be sold to the best advantage and that Aerlínte Éireann, Teoranta, should be wound up.
