Sara bhfágfad oifig na h-Aireachta Gnóthaí Eachtracha, is mian liom a chur in iúl duit gur rí-mhór agam an dea-sheirbhís díograiseach a thugais don Stát i gcaitheamh na mblianta deacra atá caite againn. A shamhail de sheirbhísigh dílse dúthrachtacha go raibh i gcónaí ag ár dtír!

Is é mo ghuí go mbeidh gach rath agus sonas ort sna blianta atá romhainn.

Before leaving the office of the Ministry for External Affairs, I want to express to you my deep appreciation of your great services to the State during the difficult years through which we have just passed. May our country always have such loyal and devoted servants!
