Begins. Your telegram No. 2 August 4th received. Unless conference ended you cannot go. In any case sending of Government delegate to convention might be resented by U.S.A. Government. Ford should understand this. Perhaps you could pass through New York on way home and explain. Fianna Fáil organisation may send message to convention. Am instructing our New York office to explain difficulties to Ford.1 Ends.
