Very ugly anti-Irish campaign appears to be starting in Canadian newspapers. Mentioned it to Skelton in conversation today Wednesday. Also stated to him that reply to my telegram 671 was really contained in speech November 7th. He said he thought speech very clear statement. Skelton was not present during my conversation with Prime Minister last evening.
