I have already mentioned to you this report from the Ambassador to the Holy See on the subject of his interviews with various Cardinals of the Curia.1
You will particularly wish to see the portion of the report from the bottom of page 5 to the end of page 9. It deals with Mr. Walshe's conversation with Cardinal Pizzardo and the question of the choice of a successor to the Nuncio Apostolic. You will see that Mr. Walshe is anxious to have early instructions on the latter question.
