No. 301 NAI DFA Washington Embassy File xiii
Washington DC, 15 March 1947
I called yesterday on Congressman John McCormack (Massachusetts) former House Majority Leader and now the chief whip of the Democratic Party in the House. I asked for his support for our demands in the matter of wheat and ships. He promised to do all he could and he is to have a conference with Mr. Commins in the matter.
I brought up the question of Gray, but he said frankly that he wouldn't touch it because of the Roosevelt connection.
