No. 105 NAI DFA Ottawa Embassy DI/3/3

Extract from a letter from John J. Hearne to John A. Costello (Dublin)

Ottawa, 19 July 1948

My dear Taoiseach,

[matter omitted]

Have you thought of 'Human Rights' as a subject for the Bar Association speech? It is topical in professional circles here, and there has been a lot of discussion in the better newspapers and in periodical journals.

In making suggestions as to what you might say on any of the occasions on which you will address a Canadian audience I feel like that poor Timothy telling St. Paul what he should say to the Corinthians.

I am ever, my dear Taoiseach,
Respectfully and sincerely yours,
[unsigned]
