No. 491 NAI DFA/6/417/33 part 3
Dublin, 29 July 1950
With reference to your minute of the 14th July 1950,1 regarding the question of our candidature for membership of UNO, we have since seen the press reports to the effect that Russia intends to resume her seat on the Security Council.
We should be glad to be kept informed of any developments of which you may become aware in regard to Russia's attendance at the Security Council. Should Russia again 'walk out', we are anxious that pending further consideration of the matter here, no support should be lent by the Embassy to the idea that this would be a favourable opportunity to dispose of our outstanding application.
