Extract from the minutes of a meeting of the Cabinet 'Foreign Military Aircraft: Revision of procedure in regard to their admission to Ireland'

Dublin, 1 February 1952

Following consideration of a memorandum dated the 26th January, 1952,1 submitted by the Minister for Industry and Commerce, approval was given, in principle, to the making by the Minster of an Order pursuant to subsection 5(5) of the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 1946, amending regulation number 75 of the Air Navigation (General) Regulations, 1930,

  1. by transferring to the Minister for External Affairs the powers held by the Government under regulation number 75, relative to flights by foreign military aircraft over Ireland; and
  2. by providing that foreign military aircraft engaged in search and rescue operations shall be exempt from compliance with the regulation.
