Following consideration of a memorandum dated the 29th October, 1953,1 submitted by the Minister for External Affairs relative to the accredition of Dominic Paul McGuire as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Ireland, it was decided that a communication covering the points mentioned in paragraph 8 of the memorandum should be addressed to the Australian Government in terms to be settled by the Taoiseach and the Minister for External Affairs.

The international network of Editors of Diplomatic Documents was founded in 1988. Delegations from different parts of the world met for the first time in London in 1989.
