No. 251 NAI DFA/10/A/47

Letter from Seán Nunan to Frederick H. Boland (London)
(Personal and Confidential) (Copy)

Dublin, 19 February 1954

In February, 1943, Kerney was recalled from Madrid for consultations here. Have you any idea as to why he was required home?1 I should be grateful if you could let me know whatever background to this you are aware of. I have seen all the files which might be relevant to this matter – including the G2 reports – but there is no indication as to the reason for his recall. He remained here from 19th February to 12th April.

1 In February 1941 Nunan was posted to Washington DC, where he served from 1941 to 1946.
