Consulted Ambassador last night knowing he too was listening broadcast of General Assembly meeting at which Ireland elected 63rd member of UN. As result new members were requested provide representation this morning. Consequently I attended regular meeting. Took no part in discussions or voting. Pending instructions propose occupy delegation seat as courtesy to General Assembly without taking active part. In my absence Keating1 and Gallagher2 will deputise there for me.
