No. 344 NAI DFA EA 231/3/30

Extract from a Confidential Report from Joseph P. Walshe to Timothy A. Smiddy (London)
(E.A. 231/3/1930) (Copy)

Dublin, 24 February 1930

The Minister was very glad to hear that your lecture delivered under the auspices of the Irish Society of the Liverpool University was such a success. He agrees that it would be a very good thing indeed to try and establish closer relations with the Irish in Great Britain, especially in those centres where they still have distinct organisations. Every lecture of this character not only helps towards the creation of friendlier feelings towards the Saorstát, but it must also have its indirect results on the sale of Irish produce in Great Britain.
