Dublin, 11.10pm - 1.00am, 7-8 July 1932

1. Governor General: Alleged discourtesies to him

The President read correspondence which he had with the Governor General with regard to certain incidents connected with social functions including a letter received on July 7th in which the Governor General stated that he proposed to publish the correspondence if he did not receive within three days an apology for alleged discourtesies.1

An order was made

(a) declaring the letters comprising the correspondence to be confidential State documents, and

(b) advising the Governor General not to publish the correspondence in question.
