No. 296 NAI Provisional Government Minutes G1/2

Extract from the minutes of a meeting of the provisional government

Dublin, 3 June 1922

North East Question.

It was decided that a policy of peaceful obstruction should be adopted towards the Belfast Government, and that no troops from the twenty-six counties either those under official control or attached to the Executive should be permitted to invade the Six County area.

Any extension of powers on the part of that Government should be strongly opposed and care should be taken to prevent its being granted powers other than those conferred on it by the 1920 Act.
