Thanks for your telegram 27.1 I realise questions may be necessary for various reasons. It was not the fact, it was the way in which the questions were put which led me to misunderstand the position.

I am in constant contact with the Nuncio. His views regarding situation here may not necessarily be those of the Vatican. Further views that Nuncio expressed to me may not be exactly those he gives to the Vatican.
