Now is your chance. Now or never. 'A Nation once again'. Am very ready to meet you at any time. Ends.1

1 On 9 December 1941 Lord Cranborne explained to Maffey that Churchill's phrase 'a nation once again' 'certainly contemplated no deal over partition' and he meant 'by coming into the war Ireland would regain her soul' (TNA DO 130/17, Cranborne to Maffey (No. 121), 9 Dec. 1941).
