No. 252  NAI DFA Paris Embassy 18/5

Personal code telegram from Seán Murphy to Joseph P. Walshe (Dublin)
(No. 411)

VICHY, 5 December 1942

Your tel. 763.1 Present position seems to be that Marshal has broken completely with Darlan and [group indecipherable] attitude of latter publicly disowned by former though there may have been collusion in early stages. I believe collaboration by Dublin Legation would be disowned by Government here. Impossible to say future of diplomatic corps here. Seven South American countries have decided recently to withdraw their missions in addition to those which have broken relations.
