No. 293  NAI DFA Holy See Embassy V3/12

Letter from Joseph P. Walshe to Thomas J. Kiernan (Holy See)
(243/986)

DUBLIN, 2 July 1943

This is another Jewish case, brought to our notice by Deputy Briscoe, in which you may be able to interest the Vatican Information Bureau.

A small Czech Jewish girl, Gertie Dub, is left quite alone at Konigstrasse 17, Prag X. Her father is believed to have been executed recently. Her mother, Mrs. Walti Graetz, is in Jerusalem, c/o Pension Hagelberg, Abyssinian Street. The child could go to her if a German exit visa could be obtained. The International Migration Service would arrange the journey. Do you think the Vatican Bureau could do anything about the visa?

[signed] J. P. WALSHE
