During the past week I have had inquiries made through reliable sources that could not very well be associated with us as to the attitude likely to be adopted by the League Secretariat in case we present the Anglo-Irish Treaty for registration.1
The information I received is to the effect that, though it may be disagreeable to certain people, there is no other course open to them than to proceed with the registration in the ordinary way.
The relations between Iceland and Denmark are, in many instances, similar to those between an Saorstát and Britain only, on the whole, our constitutional position is much stronger and, besides, we are members of the League. Nevertheless, an agreement signed between those two countries has recently been registered and published by the League in volume XIV of the Treaty series. I may add that it was the Danish Government that made application for the registration of the Article in question.
