Extract from the minutes of a meeting of the Cabinet
'Department of External Affairs: Additional staff'
(GC 5/96) (Item 9) (S5337)

Dublin, 31 May 1949

On the recommendation of the Minister for External Affairs, it was decided that the Minister should be authorized

  1. to make the additions shewn in the annexed Schedule1 to the staff of the Department of External Affairs; and
  2. to arrange for the introduction in Dáil Éireann of a Supplementary Estimate in respect of the current financial year for the purpose of providing for
    • the additional staff referred to above, on the basis of a sum not exceeding £32,925 for a full year; and
    • the sum of £5,000 in respect of incidental expenses, printing, postage, stationery, telegrams and telephones.
