Telegram from Joseph P. Walshe to the Department of External Affairs (Dublin)
(Copy)

Vatican City, 13 June 1929

Estero, Dublin.

Saw Duca this morning. Told him very strongly consequences acceptance new proposals. He will see Pope and Cardinal tomorrow morning, and will re-establish former position if possible. Today's interview with Cardinal accordingly postponed until tomorrow morning. Your letter received today. The fullest possible information should be given. How otherwise can this delicate question be handled. My discretion must be trusted. What did Archbishop say to Minister at visit.

Walshe
