Consideration was given to a memorandum dated 14th July, 1945,1 submitted by the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, relative to the proposed erection of a high power short wave broadcasting station. It was decided that a high power short wave broadcasting station should be provided as early as possible and that such station should be capable of providing a service for the following areas in the order of priority indicated:
(1) North America
(2) Australia and the South Pacific
(3) European countries
(4) South America.

The international network of Editors of Diplomatic Documents was founded in 1988. Delegations from different parts of the world met for the first time in London in 1989.
