The Minister has decided to hold a Conference of Heads of Missions, commencing on 10th September, concerning the work and organisation of our foreign service. Will you be good enough to hold yourself in readiness as from the 6th September. It is not expected that the Conference will last more than two or three days.
The Department is at present preparing an agenda for the Conference. If you have any suggestions to make, will you please let us know.

The international network of Editors of Diplomatic Documents was founded in 1988. Delegations from different parts of the world met for the first time in London in 1989.
