No. 384 NAI TSCH/2/2/11
Dublin, 21 October 1949
Following consideration of a report made by the Minister for External Affairs of the result of inquiries which he had caused to be addressed to the Secretariat of State of the Holy See, it was decided to approve the proposed procedure whereby the presentation to the President by the Most Reverend Monsignor Ettore Felici of the Letter of Credence by virtue of which he is being accredited as Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland should follow the Ecclesiastical Reception of Monsignor Felici arranged by His Grace the Archbishop of Dublin.
It was also decided that, in reply to the President's request for the advice of the Government as to whether he should attend the Ecclesiastical Reception, the Taoiseach should express to the President, on behalf of the Government, the opinion that it would be advisable for him to attend.
