Thank you for your useful letters of the 6th and 9th July1 concerning the Williams articles. We also heard from Fred on the subject and I am sending you a copy of his report of 10th July2 for your personal information.
The Minister decided finally that Dr. Rynne should speak to Mr. Williams and put him right in regard to some of the more glaring misinterpretations. Dr. Rynne did so most effectively, I think, and there the matter rests.
We have heard nothing from Kerney regarding the action for libel which he was considering taking against Mr. Williams and the Irish Press.3
We are watching out for the volumes of documents on German foreign policy4 during the war period which are likely to be published very soon, according to Mr. Williams. The only volume we have so far is that issued by the Department of State, Washington in 1949.5 I suppose you have already heard of the extract from that volume which I am enclosing herewith.

The international network of Editors of Diplomatic Documents was founded in 1988. Delegations from different parts of the world met for the first time in London in 1989.
